Department of Law, established in 1953, is one of the pioneers of legal education in the Indian sub-continent. Over the decades, as one of the founding departments of the University of Rajshahi, the department has built a reputation not only within the country but also across the whole world for its academic excellence and significant contribution to legal research. The faculty members of the Department are highly qualified and hold advanced degrees from prestigious institutions both at home and abroad.

The department offers the four-year programme of Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LL.B Honours) and specialized Master of Laws (LL.M) along with Professional Masters (PLLM). It also facilitates a wide range of research facilities, including PhD and MPhil programmes. Additionally, the “Law Review” is a peer reviewed law journal published yearly from the department. The course curriculum is being updated continuously to keep it up-to-date with the evolving legal landscape that covers almost all the checklist of the IQAC. The advanced teaching method and updated logistic support of smart board and power point multimedia with high-speed internet connection help the students to prepare for their future endeavors. The alumni of the Department excel not only in judiciary and advocacy but also in diverse fields in home and abroad.
